Australia… Electric Cars are S3XY…

I can’t open an Australian magazine or news paper without seeing something quite electrifying… I am talking about EVs of course. So far the 20s have been kinda false start, but I think EVs are revving things up (quietly of course).

EVs or just anything EV related is all over the place. With TV and movie appearances, celebrities, Presidents, Heads of State and Prime Ministers all jumping on the S3XY free love movement. But why?

Yes EVs are the path to a Net-Zero Future, but recently they’ve become so much more than that. Not too long ago I was sent a youtube clip of a Tesla diver at a gas station! Yes… He was trying to put gas in his brand-new Tesla… It’s probably because he purchased his Tesla for the cool factor, not necessarily realising a Tesla is electric….

The thing is, EVs are cooler than regular cars because they look stunning and they’re really fast. EVs have magnificent and aerodynamic curvy body lines that look better than gas driven cars. To name a few, the Porsche Taycan, Mustang Mach E, Tesla Model S, Polestar 1 and 2, Mercedes EQS and BMW i4 are all making EVs more than Net-Zero but Sub-Zero…. I have never seen a Cross-Over SUV more stunning than the Mustang Mach E. The engineering is amazing not just for aerodynamics, but performance of sub 4 seconds to 100 Kmh.

Australia however is kinda missing out… But the choice of S3XY EVs is about to get a lot better for Aussie first time EV drivers. Here’s what we have to look forward to:

The Audi e-Tron GT early 2022, Q4 e-Tron late 2021, Chevrolet Corvette and Camaro Electric possibly 2024ish, Ferrari EV 2025, Mustang Mach E late 2022, Genesis G70 EV early 2021, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N 2022 maybe, KIA EV6 sometime 2022, Mercedes EQE and EQS sometime 2022, Mini JCW Electric maybe 2023, Nissan Ariya early 2022 and so much more.
